Living the polished life.

Kickstarting Summer with Schick Hydro Silk Razor

As a woman, there are many things we moan and groan about: that time of the month, washing our hair more than twice a week, and for many of us (insert raising hand emoji) it’s shaving our legs.

Don’t get me wrong– its always worth it in the end. Who doesn’t want silky smooth legs that feel like butter when you’re all moisturized and dancing around your apartment with your remote control microphone to Harry Style’s new song? But for me, its the whole process. Usually there’s shaving cream involved, balancing bending in the shower in a way that you don’t fall backwards, avoiding irritation, and the big one– making sure you don’t miss any spots.

All of that considered, when Schick introduced me to the new and improved Schick Hydro Silk Razor, I knew it was a game changer… for real though.

The new Schick Hydro Silk Razor has “Hydra-Boost” serum that’s concentrated with shea butter and clinically proven to hydrate your skin up to 2 hours after you shave! So, even if you forget to put on lotion afterwards (*guilty as charged*), Schick Hydro Silk has your legs covered. Plus! On top of that, the razor has Five Curve Sensing® blades and unique skin guards to help reduce irritation while providing ultimate closeness. You know those hard-to-reach ankle spots? No longer a problem!

To celebrate the launch of the new Schick Hydro Silk Razor and to lure summer out early, I partnered with Schick to come up with 2 easy pedicure designs inspired by their new packaging.

After a very long hiatus, I’m back(!!!) with a fun tutorial for those of you who want a head-start on summer pedis. Note: these double as manis too!

For this artful ombre, I used: ‘blanc’, ‘playdate’, ‘bikini so teeny’, and gel.setter by essie. Optional: a striper brush for more detailed lines.

1. Start with a full white nail using ‘blanc’ by essie

2. With ‘playdate’ swipe the brush going from left to right and stop before reaching the middle

3. Repeat on the right side swiping right to left using ‘bikini so teeny’

4. With ‘blanc’ and a nail striper, layer light brush strokes over the middle to blend the design

5. Top it off with gel.setter top coat for high shine and a long lasting pedi!

Next is a design inspired by the water fall on the packaging. I’ve gotten so many compliments on these that I will definitely have to paint them again!

For this mani, you’ll need: ‘blanc’, ‘mint candy apple’‘bikini so teeny’, ‘butler please’ and gel.setter by essie. You will also need a striper brush!

1. Start with a full white nail using ‘blanc’ by essie

2. With ‘mint candy apple’ create a thick diagonal line

3. Using a striper and ‘bikini so teeny’ layer on light brush strokes within the thick diagonal line mimicking the water from the packaging

4. Repeat with ‘butler please’

5. Top it off with gel.setter top coat for high shine and a long lasting pedi!

As always, be sure to share yours if you try it at #missladyfinger so I can see! You’ll also find a ton more designs on @missladyfinger.

*Big thanks to Schick Hydro Silk for partnering with me on this post. I did receive compensation, but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
