Living the polished life.

MANICURE MUSE: Just Cavalli Pre-Fall ’13

Don’t mess with the Just Cavalli girl. She’s bold, she has attitude, and this season she’s rocking a dark lip. Basically, I love her. For Pre-Fall ’13 she commands attention with her quilted leather minis, military jackets, and knee-high boots. As per usual, the prints make the statement ranging from the iconic animal, to baroque, to the psychedelic pixel patterns. I always have fun recreating Just Cavalli into nail art. It’s busy and bold, but it works. (Remember last season’s Just Cavalli look? They were pretty bangin’ too.)

To emulate this look, I used Noir by Yves Saint Laurent, I’m So Over Him by Ginger+Liz, Dirty Martini by NCLA, Paint the Town by Maybelline, Floral Street by Nails Inc, a dotter tool and a nail art brush.

To get these Ladyfingers:

1. Start with a full black nail

2. Using your nail art brush, paint two stripes of purple down either side of your nail, followed by a shorter line that meets the tip

3. Make a diagonal line of green towards the top in both of the side sections

4. Repeat making a red line just beneath the green one

5. Using your dotter tool, paint white dots throughout the middle black section and along the corners of your nail

6. Paint a thin red line down the very center of your nail

7. Top it off with top coat

I would so wear the nails – I would never be able to pull off the fashion design – not where I live that is not a high end fashion zone!
