Living the polished life.

MANICURE MUSE: Kenzo Spring ’13

Think of the Kenzo tiger sweatshirt like a Willy Wonka golden ticket… they exist only on the rare street style icon, but not for real life people. Why? Because they are SOLD OUT everywhere! I’ve learned my lesson though. I solemnly swear to stalk Moda Operandi and Opening Ceremony for the new Spring ’13 collection, because it will fly off the shelves with similar momentum. For Spring, it’s back to the jungle with utility separates (with the occasional safari onesie), exotic botanical prints, and bright bold colors, but it was the leopard print in neon that really roared.

To emulate this look, I used World’s End by Topshop, Shocking Seas by Maybelline Color Show, Too Too Hot by Essie, Sharon by Zoya, Black Taxi by Nails Inc, a paper towel and a sponge.

To get these Ladyfingers:

1. Start with a full light blue nail

2. Drop some darker blue on a paper plate and dab with a sponge to remove excess polish

3. Lightly sponge your nail to create texture

4. With red, apply imperfect dots

5. Once dry, dab a small amount of orange in the center of each red dot

6. Using a nail art brush and your black color, apply imperfect ‘Cs’ encompassing the red

7. Add some random black dots

8. Top it off with top coat
