Thom Browne is no stranger to the fashion industry. He’s been masterfully designing menswear since 2006. His women’s wear collections over recent seasons have been following suit with his exquisite tailoring and dramatic flair. Think of Thom Browne as the Tim Burton of fashion: dark, offbeat, and Avant-garde. His Fall ’13 collection could have easily outfitted the cast of Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (I might then have been more enticed to see it) with the inflated portions and theatrics of it all. However, it was his Resort ’14 collection that recently stole the spotlight. All the elements of Thom Browne that I love were distilled into one offbeat and sophisticated collection. He took his tailoring literally inside out and incorporated it into preppy post-modern pieces. Thrown among the mix were quirky patterns, lifting the dark mood for fans to appreciate his wit.
To emulate this look, I used Shake Your $$ Maker by Essie and black and white nail art brushes.
To get these Ladyfingers:
1. Start with a full green nail
2. Using a black nail art brush, create diagonal lines at a 45 degree angle
3. Repeat step 2 with a white nail art brush creating symmetrical diagonal lines
4. Top it off with top coat
