MANICURE MUSE: Nanette Lepore AW’12 You may recall the Nanette nail I did inspired by the Spring ‘12 collection. Nanette Lepore makes it easy to translate her youthful looks into nail art, because the colors are always so bright and rich. This season was no different with vibrant hues of tomato, pumpkins, cobalts, chartreuses and dark burgundies. Trust me when I say they look even better in person.   To emulate, I used Urban Purple by Rimmel London, Beach by Revlon, Carnaby Street by Nails Inc and Neon Pink by Color Club.  To get these ladyfingers: 1. Paint your full nail burgundy 2. Using a metallic lime green, paint a thick stripe on top of your freshly wet burgundy— they should blend slightly 3. Quickly after, paint a thinner yellow stripe on top of the lime green metallic 4. With a hot pink nail art pen, draw swirls emulating the print 5. Top it off with top coat

MANICURE MUSE: Stella McCartney AW’12 After a sporty chic Spring ‘12 collection and with Olympic uniforms on the way, it comes as no surprise that Stella McCartney is keeping the athletic-wear ball rolling for Fall. “The Stella woman is about balance,” said McCartney of her Fall collection. Body con tweed dresses with symmetrical white stripes are fine by me, so, with that said, I give you my Stella McCartney ladyfingers.  To recreate this look, I used: Forbidden by Chanel, Beige Babe by Rimmel London, Marine Blue by The Balm and White nail art paint by Kiss Nail Art.  To get these ladyfingers: 1. Start with a dark brown nail 2. Paint a half circle of blue starting from the top of your nail ending at the center 3. Using your taupe, paint 1/4 of a circle on a corner of your nail 4. Repeat on the other corner leaving a small space of brown still exposed in the center 5. Using a white nail art brush, draw a squiggly line on the left side 6. Repeat making another line symmetrical with the one you just made 7. Top it off with Seche Vite’s Fast Dry Top Coat

MANICURE MUSE: Marni for H&M Ever since the Marni for H&M collaboration was announced, the countdown to March has been painfully slow. Luckily, we’re in the homestretch. The collaboration finally hits stores March 8th. The complete lookbook has already gone viral giving us much to look forward to (I’ll take one of everything, please). Even better that everything is reasonably priced with most pieces under $100.  I used Urban Purple by Rimmel London, Summer Peach by American Apparel and Stolen Sapphires by Topshop.  To get these Ladyfingers: 1. Paint your full nail a burgundy color 2. Using a dotter tool- I used Orly’s Dotter Duo tool (available here)- make two rows of peach dots across the middle of your nail 3. Make a line of vertical dots aligning with a column dots you made on the right side of your nail 4. Clean your dotter tool and start again dotting with dark blue. Create a dotted vertical line on either side of your peach vertical line 5. Clean your tool again and apply more peach dots at the top and bottom of your nail 6. Seal off with top coat and voila!

MANICURE MUSE: Sonia Rykiel SP’12 Sonia Rykiel is usually known for her flirty, flouncy pieces that just make you want to coo as they come down the runway. While Fall ‘11 headed a different direction, it’s great to see her tap back into what she does best. For Spring ‘12, Sonia Rykiel tasted the rainbow and made sure we did too. Completing the Miss Ladyfinger rainbow are: Perfect Plum (Rimmel London), Volcanic (Mattese Elite), and Yellow Seahorse (L’Oreal).  (Photo: style.com) Oh, and if you spot any cute leprechauns… be sure to send them my way.
